About
A reagent supplier built around expression platforms
BOT Bioscience (百欧泰生物) researches, produces and sells bioresearch reagents from Beijing. Ten expression platforms, in-house antibody production and lot-level QC are the three things that determine whether a catalogue is useful or merely large.
The company began in 2016 as a protein expression laboratory serving academic groups that needed a protein nobody sold. That origin still shapes how we work: the catalogue exists because customers asked for specific targets, and the custom service exists because the catalogue will never cover everything.
Today the portfolio spans recombinant and native proteins, monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies, CD antigens, matched antibody pairs and small molecule reagents, with more than 10,000 proteins in stock and distribution through 50+ partners in 35 countries. Our customers are research laboratories, diagnostic kit manufacturers and biotechnology companies who need a reagent that behaves the same way in the second lot as it did in the first.
We are deliberately not a catalogue-only business. Roughly half of our work is custom: an antibody against a target with no commercial reagent, a peptide that will not dissolve, a protein that expresses entirely into inclusion bodies. Those projects are where the expression platforms and the QC system earn their keep.
What we hold ourselves to
- 01Data for the lot you receivePurity, activity and application data are generated on the production lot and shipped with it.
- 02One quality standardCustom and catalogue products are released against the same criteria.
- 03Honest feasibilityIf a target is likely to fail in the proposed platform, we say so before taking the order.
- 04Support from the benchTechnical questions go to the scientist who made the batch.
History
How the company grew
From a single protein expression laboratory to a reagent and custom-service supplier covering 35 countries.
- 2016
Founded in Beijing
BOT Bioscience starts as a protein expression laboratory serving local academic groups.
- 2018
Antibody line launched
Polyclonal and monoclonal production capacity added, together with matched pair screening.
- 2020
IVD raw material programmes
CD antigens, small molecule haptens and diagnostic-grade proteins added for kit manufacturers.
- 2022
International distribution
Distribution agreements established across Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific.
- 2025
10,000+ catalogue proteins
Catalogue passes 10,000 proteins, supported by ten expression platforms and in-house QC.
Capabilities
Platforms and capabilities
Prokaryotic, yeast, insect, mammalian and cell-free expression are all available in house, which means the platform is chosen for the protein rather than for the production line.
- E. coliFast, low cost, no glycosylation
- Pichia pastorisHigh-density secretion, mannose glycans
- Saccharomyces cerevisiaeGRAS host for food and feed targets
- Sf9 / baculovirusInsect cell glycosylation, high yield
- High FiveSecreted protein production
- HEK293Human-like glycosylation for receptors
- CHOTherapeutic-grade mammalian expression
- NS0Stable mammalian cell lines
- Wheat germ cell-freeMembrane proteins and toxic targets
- Rabbit reticulocyteRapid small-scale synthesis
