Recombinant Proteins

Engineered expression, reproducible purity, and functional activity you can build an assay on.

Recombinant proteins are produced by placing a target gene into a host cell and letting that cell act as a living factory. Compared with extraction from native tissue, recombinant production gives defined sequence, controlled glycosylation choices, scalable yield and — most importantly for assay development — batch-to-batch consistency.

Our catalogue covers two broad families. Growth factors are intercellular signalling proteins — FGF, EGF, VEGF, IGF, BMP and related families — used to drive proliferation, differentiation and stem-cell maintenance. Cytokines include interferons, interleukins, pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines that control immune cell function and communication. Both families are supplied with carrier-free options for cell culture and with tags removable on request.

Typical applications, representative examples and use notes for Recombinant Proteins
ApplicationRepresentative examplesWhen it fits
Biopharmaceutical developmentInsulin, interferon-alpha, growth hormone, vaccine antigensProcess development, formulation screening and immunogenicity studies where a defined, sequence-verified antigen or therapeutic protein is required.
Assay & tool enzymesTaq DNA polymerase, restriction endonucleases, reverse transcriptaseMolecular biology workflows and diagnostic kit manufacturing, where specific activity and lot stability drive the assay's reproducibility.
Immunology & cell biologyRecombinant antigens for ELISA and Western blot, CAR-T cytokinesAntibody production, standard curves, cell expansion and signalling pathway studies in serum-free or chemically defined media.
Industrial & agricultural useDetergent enzymes, food-processing enzymes, feed additivesEnzyme replacement in manufacturing and biopesticide development, where cost per unit activity and thermostability matter most.

Product highlights

  • Quality controllability — purity verified by SDS-PAGE and HPLC on every lot, with the report shipped alongside the product.
  • Functionally precise — activity confirmed in house (ED50 / binding) and, where relevant, benchmarked against reference standards.
  • High yield and high purity — fed-batch fermentation and multi-step chromatography routinely reach ≥95% purity.
  • Lower safety risk than native extraction — no dependency on animal or human tissue sourcing.
  • Scale-up ready — the same process is used from milligram research vials to multi-gram bulk supply.
